The organization of EuroMaintenanceNEXT, together with its stakeholders, has decided to move the convention to 14, 15 and 16 June 2021. As a result of COVID-19, March seems too uncertain to organize a fully-fledged and successful edition. A few extra months will make a big difference. The international EuroMaintenance conference and the Maintenance NEXT trade fair, which are organised together under the convention, were actually planned in March earlier that year, in Rotterdam Ahoy.
"This decision felt right for everyone and is experienced as such,” explains Exhibitions Manager Pieter Bas Dujardin. "As an organization we want to set up a full-fledged trade fair and strong conference, supplemented with workshops and company visits. There is a good chance of success in June, as we will be entering the summer, a period in which the amount of infections will be lower.” In addition, there are encouraging signs about vaccines and rapid tests. All considerations were first presented to the sponsors, exhibitors and other stakeholders of the European event. "Moving to June could of course only be realized when all those involved supported it. Fortunately, almost everyone agreed and found 14, 15 and 16 June 2021 to be a more appropriate time. We have the same goal and that is to organize a successful edition.”
This decision also felt right with the perspective on international travel. Ellen den Broeder, General Manager Dutch Maintenance Society (NVDO), who is organizing EuroMaintenance this year, is delighted by this decision: "In order to organize a successful and international conference such as EuroMaintenance, it is essential that people can travel again. This applies not only to the conference, but also to the workshops and company visits that we organize especially for the European public. At least within Europe, but preferably also beyond. Now that we have made this decision in a timely manner together with all those involved, we can all switch and plan on time. Responsibility and safety come first, and we are happy that we have found suitable new data. The commitment of many in this decision makes us proud and gives a great sense of joint responsibility.”
Apart from the relocation, the organization is working hard on the EuroMaintenanceNEXT program. In addition to the exhibition floor for maintenance professionals from all over the world, valuable presentations, workshops, demonstrations and company visits will be organized throughout the Botlek region.
